1) Product Description

Foamsil DCN 200 is a 100% silicone defoamer. It is widely used as a versatile defoamer in general industrial applications

2) Properties

Appearance : Translucent grey liquid

Weight Loss ( 1 gm , 150 C , 2 hr ) : 3%

Viscosity (Spindle no. 2 , rpm 6 , 25 C) Brookfield LVT :1000 3500 cps

Defoaming activity : 15 sec. max

4) Performance Test

1. Prepare a sample of defoamer by mixing 0.5 gm of sample and 50 cc Butyl Alcohol.

2. Take 1gm Triton X 100 in a small flask and 99 cc distilled water.

Add 0.5 cc of sample from 1and add into 2, shake the flask in a vertical wrist movement for 10 seconds. Then place the flask on a table and count the time required for the foam to collapse. (The point at which a portion of liquid surface observed)

5) Safe use and handling

Good hygienic and industrial practices should be followed and, when employed as recommended, Foamsil DCN 200 will not present any hazard. However, prolonged skin contact with the neat product should be avoided and any splashes on the skin should be washed off with water.
